From Madawaska to York, thousands of Mainers turned out on May 1st to demand economic justice, fully funded public services, and an end to attacks on workers’ rights and vulnerable communities.

Nearly 6,000 people gathered across 26 towns, standing together against the Trump administration’s anti-worker agenda. Maine communities large and small rallied in parks, on bridges, and in town squares—joining more than 1,300 May Day demonstrations nationwide.

This movement is growing. Mainers are organizing, showing up, and reminding leaders that we will not back down.
More than 2,000 rallied in Portland, with towns across Maine standing tall—Damariscotta-Newcastle with 475, Belfast with 250, Auburn and Freeport both with 200, Brunswick with 300, Madawaska with 35, and Waterville with 300.
