What is Activate Maine?

Activate Maine is a grassroots, volunteer-run group of passionate Mainers dedicated to building a centralized hub for activism and community across the state. Our goal is to make it easier for Mainers to show up, stay informed, and support each other, without relying on social media algorithms or scattered information.

What We Do

We connect Mainers with actions from rallies and protests to mutual aid efforts, teach-ins, community, and more.

We offer:

  • A centralized, statewide calendar of vetted actions

  • Moderated community chat groups for sharing resources, organizing, and building real connections

  • Private organizer forums

  • Photo galleries, blogs, newsletters, and much more!

Our Mission

Our mission is to make activism more accessible, more visible, and more effective. We’re here to educate, support, and empower each other — from the couch to the capitol!

Activate Maine exists to unify and enable all Mainers — across towns, causes, and communities — into something stronger. We believe activism starts hyper-locally and ripples outward — and it’s deeply collective. It's hope. It’s connection. It’s courage, coordination, and showing up however you can.

Born out of Chaos. Rooted in Community and Action.

In a time of deep uncertainty and overwhelm, Activate Maine founder Rachel started this organization with a belief that community could offer calm in the chaos. She saw Mainers fighting alone across the state and knew we’d be stronger together. She heard heard from people who felt anxious, confused, and desperate to help but didn’t know where to start. Rachel founded Activate Maine as a central hub to help Mainers easily access information. But her vision has always reached beyond events—to grow unity, build power, and fight with one collective voice. This space is for all of us—especially those who often feel unseen.
